Philippines

A week island-hopping the Philippines with a friend, over the March break on exchange. It was mostly built around diving in the Visayas.

We flew into Cebu before dawn and dove around Mactan, then ferried over to Bohol for Chocolate Hills, tarsiers, and a couple of days diving off Panglao. The plan had been to stop in Oslob for the whale sharks on the way south, but the ferry broke down, so we skipped it and pushed on to Moalboal. That turned out fine: the sardine run just off the beach, and canyoneering at Kawasan Falls. From there it was back up to Cebu City for a 3am flight onward to Malaysia.

Palawan and El Nido were on the original plan and didn't survive the final cut; saving those for another lifetime.
