Hong Kong
Six days of sightseeing wedged between paper deadlines on exchange.
Six days in Hong Kong over the April break on exchange, mostly working on a paper between sightseeing, with a friend showing me around for part of it.
I was based on Hong Kong Island at Check Inn: Causeway Bay, the Monster Building and the Quarry Bay promenade, the Central-Mid-Levels escalators, and a fair bit of laptop time in cafes and British pubs. One day I spent with my friend Jacky, ending at the horse racing. Over in Kowloon there was the waterfront and the Symphony of Lights. The best day was out on Lantau: the Ngong Ping 360 cable car up to the Tian Tan Buddha and the Wisdom Path, then the old fishing village at Tai O. I flew out late on the last night, landing in Hanoi around 1am to start the next trip.
